description : JOB PURPOSE:
The Head Grower is responsible for managing cultivation operations at one of the company’s indoor cannabis production facilities. Oversees daily grow operations, crop planning, and provides support and leadership to the Cultivation team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages cultivation operations and drives performance of cultivation teams.
Plans and coordinates cultivation operations including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, pruning, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative spraying, waste disposal, trimming, packaging, and inventory management
Oversees plant inventory tracking including METRC tracking and reporting
Develops, maintains, and enforces SOP’s for cultivation processes
Assists with the development of annual cultivations budgets and monitors cultivation operational costs to ensure adherence to established budgets
Develops and implements Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and policies
Supervises crop inspection and compile production status reports and pre-harvest estimates for all crops produced by the cultivation team.
Develops and implements water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures
Manages inventory for all cultivation teams and coordinates with other teams as needed
Develops and evaluates KPI’s for cultivation teams
Leads workforce management efforts for each team including the hiring, onboarding, and separation processes
Ensures training processes are compliant, effective, and safe across all cultivation teams
Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance to SOP’s for cultivation processes
Ensures the cleanliness and organization of all equipment
Ensures the completion and delivery of accurate daily activity records and operation logs
Work with a nutrient mixing team to ensure quality and proper production levels.
Ensures compliance with all state and local laws and company SOPs, policies, codes of conduct, and emergency and safety procedures.
Responsible for the consistent, sanitary and safe production, and disposal of cannabis and cannabis byproducts by utilizing company policies and SOPs to successfully uphold quality, consistency, and compliance of all products produced within the cultivation space.
Provide guidance for implementation of state regulations within cultivation processes.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience
3 years of management experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Must possess or obtain a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee Badge
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to assess data and make informed decisions
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Proficiency using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office programs including Gmail, Calendar Docs, Slides, Sheets, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Knowledge of METRC and Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) compliance regulations related to cannabis cultivation
Knowledge of cannabis cultivation nutrient requirements, planting mediums, lighting requirements, environmental requirements, soil growing methods, watering, container systems, hydroponics, temperature and humidity requirements, and drip irrigation
Knowledge of beneficial and detrimental bacteria, plant diseases, insects, fungi, and related methods to manage cultivation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting and/or standing for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, stretch, walk, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive motions, and carry boxes or items
COMPENSATION DETAILS:
Pay Range: $70,000 to $80,000; actual pay will be determined based on qualifications
