Job Profile/Key Responsibilities:
Transformation of applications from Mainframe to Distributed Platform
Optimize Mainframe applications, by extending Mainframe application as a service
Analyze and understand application migration requirements
Design suitable target architecture for legacy applications on distributed platform (Public / Private Cloud)
Produce all required design specifications, work with the Project Manager to create detailed technical task lists, provide technical guidance to the project team, and define/enforce project standards and industry best practices
Assess legacy application functionality from migration perspective and design
Experienced in Iterative and Parallel development model is desirable.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to both customer and project team
Work in tandem with customer architecture team, co-ordinate/collaborate with customer, team and project management for application delivery
Identifying suitable tools for application migration
Mentor team members, provide solutions for technical bottlenecks/issues arising in project
Troubleshoot complex technical issues. Identify and mitigate risks on project
Mandatory Skills:
Should have prior full life cycle experience of migrating legacy application from Mainframe to Distributed platform like Windows, Linux/Unix (Should have experience in Rehost and Rearchitect)
Prior experience of Rehosting or Automated code refactoring with Micro Focus. TmaxSoft, BluAge, LzLabs, Heirloom or equivalent
Should have >12 years of Mainframe Experience
Knowledge on code analysis tools and assessment
Should have prior experience of database migration from mainframe to distributed environment
Effective in module design, coding, reviews of legacy based programming language
Expertise in SQL Queries & Database interactions
Should have good communication, problem solving skills with good learning attitude
Mainframe modernization from one platform to another platform .
Analysis, estimation, convert, migration to production.
Microfocus, Java, .net
Migration to SAP, oracle doesn’t work.
